Ponder the Path

When our youngest two children were still quite small, I enjoyed watching them learn through grace filled Montessori methods.  Ridiculed by CMer’s quite frequently then, and since, I am unsure why these other parents cannot see the compatibility of these two forms of education.  Though seemingly different based on appearances, they both have noble aims.  They both recognize the child as a person.  An individual.  A life created by God.  Both embrace nature, beautiful books, and the pursuit of beauty.  Neither welcomes a focus on testing, yet both encourage a successful life of adventurous pursuit of developing giftedness.

If you are a parent, wondering whether Montessori is worth the effort, wrestling with the perceived difference in comparison with more traditionally accepted paths to learning, you must read this article.
